CONFERENCE LOCATIONS AND TIPS TO GET THERE
ELTE Faculty of Humanities Trefort garden Campus
We are sharing some information that might help you with planning your travel and accommodation during the time of the conference.
We are delighted to introduce the location of DH_Budapest_2025 Young Researchers, the Trefort garden campus which is the home of the ELTE Faculty of Humanities. The campus is composed of several buildings designed by different architects and built in different architectural styles, such as Romanesque and Neo-Renaissance, making this complex a unique experience for visitors.

Trefort garden is easy to approach since it is located next to Astoria, a busy place in Budapest city center, providing many options for public transport. Here are the most convenient options for international guests arriving from abroad:
The Address: 1088 Budapest, Múzeum krt. 6-8.
- From Liszt Ferenc Airport (BUD): by the 100E Airport Shuttle, get off at „Astoria” station.
- From Keleti Train Station: by subway line M2 (red) in the direction of “Déli pályaudvar”, get off at „Astoria” metro station.
- From Déli Train Station: by subway line M2 (red) in the direction of “Örs vezér tere”, get off at “Astoria” metro station.
- From Nyugati Train Station: by metro replacement bus M3 in the direction of “Kálvin tér” metro station, get off at “Astoria”.
- From Népliget Bus station: by subway line M3 (blue), get off at „Kálvin tér” metro station, the campus is about 7 minutes of walking distance.
National Széchényi Library
The National Széchényi Library is Hungary’s national library, located in the historic Buda Castle, Building “F” (address: 1014 Budapest, Szent György tér 4–5–6).
The library was founded in 1802 by Count Ferenc Széchényi, who donated his personal collection to the nation, which has since become the guardian of Hungary’s written cultural heritage. Its mission is to collect, preserve, and make accessible all Hungarian and Hungary-related printed and manuscript materials, maps, and digital resources.
Since 1985, the library has been housed in the Buda Castle complex, offering readers and visitors an inspiring atmosphere combining culture, scholarship, and history. For more information on accessing the library, visit the national library's website.
